Coming Home to Mandaue Foam

I started working when Brhent (My son) was around 2 months old, I entered the BPO Industry since it was the only job where you can really earn alot even if you haven't finished college yet. I worked to provide his financial needs. I decided to send him to school now that he's 3. Early June, weeks after Brhent's firstday of school, I decided to quit my job to be a hands on mommy. And since I still need money to pay for bills, his needs and tuition fee, I started to work on my online stationery store, Pochidoodledoo. It's fun because, I love paper crafts, I get to work at home and I get to spend more time with him. Our room then turned out to be half bedroom half craft station.. While waiting for my money to come, I've listed down things I would need for our room transformation. 3 Main Items would be:
----------
1. Cabinet
- Something where I can put Hubby's collection of Gundam Robots.
- Brhent's stuff: School Bag, School things, toys, clothes and shoes.
- Craft tools

2. Sofa Bed
We only have a small room. A bed wouldn't be necessary since we need to save up some space. We can also use that on our MOVIE MARATHON night which usually happens during wed, thurs or friday :)

3. Craft Table
----------
Hubby created my current workstation/computer table. He also created his own hanging rack (well i don't really know what to call it, so let it be a hanging rack for now, haha!) It's where he puts his gundam collection.

He made it from wood scraps from their old computer shop table.. The picture of his robot collection isn't updated, he currently have 6 ;)

So going back, We're planning to have our room/ mini craft working station renovated by buying those stuff listed above. I've been googling for cheap yet nice furniture for a month now and I can't seem to find one. But just this day I've heard about Mandaue Foam furniture store! Man they sell such good stuff on a very reasonable price!

Those are the things I've seen on their website, I've also listed that on my what to buy list! :) The sofa bed, seems really nice! The fabric design just fits our personality, plus, It's buy 1 take one! The •6x36x75 only cost Php 3,800.00, Nice! The Bookshelf with magnetic system would be perfect for hubby's robot collection and the Office Table is just what i need :-) I swear I am having an eyegasm as of the moment that I'm looking at their online catalouge o____o

They sell other stuff that you guys might be interested! You just might find your furniture needs here!

Just found out on the website that everything was made here in the Philippines!

"Your Home, Your Imagination"

We only have a room to decorate for now, so these are the only stuff that we would be able to buy.. But once we get to have our own place I now know where to buy our first home furniture!

CAFFEINE HIGH X PAPA JACK

It's almost midnight and I'm still up. I still need to bring my son to school tomorrow morning but I am really not close to being sleepy. I am currently printing out pending orders that I should be shipping tomorrow, i drunk 1 tumbler of coffee and I am on caffeine high as of the moment, And i feel so floated, feels like my tummy's gonna blow any moment. -.- This post would just be full of pictures of me as of the moment..

I'm currently listening on 90.7, fm radio station's Papa Jack while waiting for the Zzz's to come. He sometime is to loud but man he can really give such good love advice, Some are these:

"Never count the efforts you give to your loved ones"
- True. Whatever you give or whatever efforts you give to the one you love, you did it because you wanted to give it. Never make an effort if you're expecting something in return. right?

"Boys are like dogs. They'd still eat even if they're full. But they can be trained. And they can be loyal, and would protect you if you girls would just know how to appreciate and love them the right way.."
- True again. If you appreciate the things your partner is giving you, If you give them reason not to betray you, they would never ever cheat, they would be loyal to you.. Not just with boys but with girls as well. Agree?

I'm still listening to Papa Jack as of the moment and It's around 12:30am, He's so hyper and i think he's on caffeine high as well. lol Goodnight everyone. :)

Preparing for the comeback!

My everyday routine is to get up early, get a cup of coffee and bread, open the pc and start working. While hibernating, instead of sleeping, what i do is to finish the obligation I have, I'm currently working on Mommy Cuddle's Hub invitation and Milk Loot box (next would be Ms Jade's orders).

I've also learned the power of MULTI-TASKING since i only have 1 desktop and 1 Printer. While cutting the boxes, or while putting in details for the invitation I print out pochidoodledoo items that I would be using for the comeback. I've currently printed out pochidoodledoo notepads, and receipts..

And because of my short hibernation, I was able to read my un-touched July 2012 issue of Candy Magazine, where I have read this article about Time management entitled THE TRUTH ABOUT SAVING TIME by Jessica Mendoza. It actually did helped me alot, on time management, multi-tasking and prioritizing.

Let me share you guys about what's written on the article that might help you:

  • Prioritizing helps a lot in focusing your attention and getting things done.
  • Your health and the people who care about you need due attention. Ignoring them will make your eventual success seem hollow.
  • Stay away from procrastination. The earlier you learn self-discipline, the better.

I would just suggest that you guys buy Candy mag's July 12 issue, cause there are alot of articles about earning money, which would surely help entrepreneur-wannabes like me :)  This ain't a paid advertisement so I am really just speaking based on what i think! haha.

Thank you guys for taking time to read my blog! Have to go back to work, And clean before typhoon Brhent and Adam (My boys) gets home from school! xoxo

But before I go, Let me leave you guys with a picture of myself and my drawings. A reminder
for everyone to Dream and Love! :)

Lots of Love,

OFF TO A SHORT HIBERNATION.

One of my deepest fears is not meeting goals. When I plan things, I want it to happen, Rain or shine. I want everything to be done on the time i said it would be done, and it breaks my heart whenever i break promises. I have encountered numerous problems on my online store, And i think I have mentioned some of the problems on my previous post, And i really am doing my best to correct, and fix every single one of them.

x ORGANIZATION
From my craft station, To my file folders, Down to taking notes of every single details about my customer and customer orders -- I failed :( I did not just failed myself but my customers expectations. I would want to slap my face so hard every time i receive personal messages, wallpost and emails about my customers following up their orders. Lack of proper organization can cause delay, And pochidoodledoo hates being delayed.

x DELAYS
All of the products I am selling are MTO's (Made To Order) So clients pay first before i start on the project, And mind you everything that i sell is made by me, my brain, and my hands. I don't have those fancy machines others may have. If something needs to be designed, Google rests, My brain works. If something needs to be cut, My hands works with scissors and cutters. From cutting papers from 8x10 to 3.5x5 i use my bare hands and a sliding cutter. I do that one by one. I am also the one who informs them about the time frame, And i don't know but I guess, I thought and feel like I'm wonder woman. I give such short time frames forgetting that I have a sideline as an events coordinator, and  a full-time-mommah of a 3 year old.

x PLANNING
I started planning for pochidoodledoo when i am still working as a call-center agent. I sneak and browse reading stuff online, from proper business handling, the how-to's, the what to do and what not to do, which took me a month before I started doing stuff for friends. I know It wasn't enough, but when I started to work with a friend of mine, orders started pouring, my lovely first customers referred me to every friend they know, And who wants to say bye to a sudden rain of blessing? No one. So i started and opened the online store with lack of planning -- And that really is a no-No.

I still have pending orders, And I would focus on those orders first, have it done and would go back on the first steps on opening a small online shop. I would be taking  a short Hibernation just to list down the problems I had and making steps to correct it. By the time i go back, I would swear to God that I would be doing my very best to meet everyone's expectations. I have scheduled myself for a  seminar on illustration, this would help me alot so i can provide only THE BEST for my CUSTOMERS. I don't want to let them down again.

To: Ma'am Franzine of Gorgeous by Mom and I, To Ma'am Maricel of Mary and King's Shop

I am very sorry for what had happened, For the delay and for the problem it might have caused your online shop. I honestly cried for not meeting your expectations. I really am very very sorry. And i hope you would forgive me, It might not be now but I hope soon.

To: Ma'am Jade & Rye N paew shop and Mom cuddlehub:
Please don't worry for the short Hibernation of my online store, I have a very big note on my desk on your orders, I would be doing my responsibility as an online seller, and the items would be shipped soon.

To everyone who supported and is continuing to support my shop, I would be back by August, It would be a very big comeback. And I would not let you down with the quality. This short Hibernation isn't goodbye, It would just be a training, so I would be able to share  much more beautiful things. Thank you again :)

Pochidoodledoo Kish x Wedding

I am a teen mom, but I am not a single mom. Luckily, my boyfriend, Adam, father of my baby brhent is responsible enough to handle god's gift to us. I was 17 when I got pregnant and gave birth at 18, which  means that I am on the legal age when I officially became a mom.. I was born and raised here in the Philippines, A country which believes in courtship, a catholic country, believes in sex before marriage -- A conservative country. And lucky-me again, My aunts, who raised me, let me decide to marry or not. And I chose not to, So yeah, I'm single by choice. My reason? Well, who doesn't want to be blessed by god before living in together? No one. But the thing is we were young when we had brhent, It was just God's plan for us but We had not really planned to have him at that time. And I want to make sure that we would be responsible enough to handle our responsibility with Brhent first before we take the next step of being a responsible Couple -- as Husband and Wife. I want our wedding to be planned. I want us to be prepared before we tie the knot. :)

I worked as a call center agent for 3 years. A job i took because I have no choice, Because I need to provide my son his financial needs. A job I took because I haven't finished College yet. A job I took for the sake of money. A job I don't have interest in -- A job I just can't love (Although I tried to, And I think I did very well). After 3 years, I thought of leaving the industry, So I did, And landed on this job -- Events organizing. I am currently working for Events on Demand, owned by Ms. Jessie Estomaguio. Been here for less than a month, was able to attend 4 events, all of them are wedding events, And maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan! Almost all of the events were like fairytales!

Being in this industry is such an honor, Hours and hours of work are being payed not just with money but with warm thank yous from our clients. I love that I get to work with the people behind EOD. I'm just a newbie but all i can say is that once you let ms jessie handle your event, you would never, ever fail. That once  in a lifetime event would surely be memorable. :)

Going back, After every successful wedding event, Gives me an idea of how I want my wedding to look like, I want the best wedding, I want it to be different, I want it filled with memories that people would never ever forget.. Everytime we get to talk to the grooms, they leave such good message. One groom said, that marriage is a realization. Once you realize that you're ready to serve your other half in all of the things, Once you're ready to support her, Once your ready on whatever challenge god might send, then you're really ready to get married. And I believe him, I was holding back my tears because it just made me realize that I am on the right track, that I made a good choice, that waiting for the right time is the right choice.

One day, I'll marry the guy i love the most, Adam. Brhent would be big enough to capture that special moment. It would be a black and white wedding, In a garden. Only people close to us would be invited, It would be a very quiet and solemn wedding, but fun. Everyone would enjoy, everyone would be happy and thankful that we've invited them, because it would be the best wedding. We would promise god that it would be forever, And that no one can tear our family apart. We would hold our hands, and face every challenge. We would just look at each other, holding hands and whisper: "It's worth the wait".

16th of July 2012

I'm starting everyday with a smile on my face for I would want to attract positive vibes. I'm still printing out the invitation and milk carton box ordered to me. I was the one who created the design and I did the layouts. The customer just informed me of what they want to see. The party's theme is Jake and the Neverland Pirates, went to google to check on ideas, and I came up with this logo! :)

I drew it myself.. Colored it with the colors the mommy requested.. And I based the boys face on Grant's (the celebrant) features.. :D His eyes and his hair.. :D

This is the invitation layout:

What's good about my customer is she let me put my ideas on the invitation. She let me play with it, but of course they know what they want, what they want to see.

This is the milk loot box they ordered, Again, I designed it myself :)

Sorry for the crappy photo. Took it using the webcam :">

Would be back in a bit, I would just need to have this finished! :)

Bye, Matey! arrrrrrrr!
<3

organizing 101: DIY Notebook organizer

One of the problem that my online store: Pochidoodledoo is encountering is lack of organization. I am currently moving my grand opening day on the first of august just so I would have enough time to do proper planning and organizing for the shop.

Here is a simple Do-it-yourself notebook organizer.

Materials used: Craft Paper (bought at National Bookstore), Colored paper strips, Glue, and A cheap notebook I bought at the market near my place.

I covered the notebook with the Craft Paper.. You can also use magazine pages, newspaper, bond paper or gift wrapper as cover. I glued it since I really suck at covering books/notebooks. If your a pro at covering, You can use scotch tapes. :D

Once you're done covering the notebook,
get your colored paper strips and fold it in half. We would be using it as the divider for the notebook. Glue it in the notebook paper.  You can divide your notebooks in different categories, I divided mine in 5. You can have yours divided depending on the number of categories you want to put in your notebook organizer :)

Once you're done, your notebook should look like this! (or would look more beautiful than what i did, lol!)

Name each category using markers, pencils or pens! And we're done!

Play with it, Be creative! You can design the notebook cover by putting in pictures, magazine cutouts, you can also doodle on it :) Take good care on your notebook, write legibly and write often. :)

HAVE FUN! <3 HOPE YOU LIKED IT! :)
